First rehearsals with actors Ahmad Al-Rokh and Faisal Abu Alhayjaa, directed by Gary English.

In Théâtre Berthelot, the stage set was installed by José, Jean-Louis and Sylvain under the supervision of director Gary.

November 27- 28 – Les 27-28 novembre
After each of the three performances, Sonia facilitated and translated the discussion between the audience, the actors Ahmed and Faisal, and the director Gary.
The actors explained how they came as teenagers to the Freedom Theatre and continued their training at the Freedom Theater Academy to become professionals.
They both emphasized the importance of theatre as a form of cultural non-violent resistance in Palestine.
Après chacune des trois représentations de la pièce L’Ile, Sonia a animé et traduit le débat avec les acteurs Ahmed et Faisal et Gary, le metteur en scène.
Les acteurs ont expliqué comment ils sont arrivés, adolescents, au Freedom Theatre et ont continué leur formation pour devenir professionnels.
Ils ont insisté sur l’importance du théâtre comme résistance culturelle non-violente en Palestine.

December 2- Le 2 décembre
A meeting around a good meal, to review the tour and assess how it went on.
The company has been really pleased with the way it has been received by the members of ATL Jénine and the staff of the theaters.
Gary remarked that the supertitling was excellent, and second in quality only to the one in Brazil.
We agreed that more information could have been provided to audiences about the Freedom Theatre, its activities and workshops for children, its cultural impact in the refugee camp, its role in initiating and encouraging artistic creation and expression.

Gary a remarqué que le surtitrage a été le meilleur après celui des représentations au Brésil.
Nous reconnaissons qu’une meilleure présentation du Freedom Theatre aurait pu davantage informer le public sur l’ensemble de ses activités, ses ateliers pour enfants, son impact culturel auprès de la population du camp, son rôle d’initiation et d’encouragement à toute forme de création et d’expression artistique.
